Essential Duties & Responsibilities - Tax
- Reviews research findings, tax returns and client tax workpapers, ensures conclusions are consistent with firm policies and professional standards, and determines implications and best course of action for clients.
- Documents research and planning to share with client team, colleagues and client.
- Scopes engagements, manages client expectations, ensures satisfaction and communicates upward.
- Build and maintain client relationships through direct contact on assigned engagements; provide timely response to clients and internal requests.
- Dedicate time to coaching others in tax software knowledge, business process, research, and technical expertise.
- Serve as a mentor by providing structured feedback to Interns and Associates.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities - Audit (Governmental)
- Stay current on recent pronouncements; identify and implement them to audit work and address any related report disclosures.
- Manage engagements in accordance with our Firm's quality standards for self, team, and client.
- Responsible for ensuring engagement is complete and ready for Partner review within established time frame and budget.
- Effectively supervise more than one engagement at a time.
- Prepare complex financial reports (statements, footnotes, and all supplemental information) and other client deliverables.
- Add value to clients by identifying suggestions through management comments and advice.
- Serve as a mentor in developing Interns and Associates by delegating and training.
Education & Experience
- Bachelors degree in Accounting with 3-7 years of experience in public accounting or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Completion of CPA exam or is eligible and plans to sit for the CPA exam is preferred.
Skills Necessary for Success
- Presentation skills are necessary to present at committee meetings, industry or trade associations, or office events.
- Knowledge of differing client businesses and industries.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills. Ability to get along well with diverse personalities.
- Ability to operate independently and self-manage projects.
- Ability to demonstrate consultative service skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft (MS) windows and Office products.
